Mango Farming

Introduction :

Andhra Pradesh is number one in production of this King of Fruits. According to 2013 data AP accounts for 27% of India’s production of Mangoes with approximately 12 lakh (1.2 million) acres of land under mango cultivation.

With new hybrid crops coming, mango plant now gives very high yield within two years of its plantation. Mango orchards are considered to be very safe investments as they consistently fetch good returns and are always in demand. They do not demand very high care and are also less prone to diseases. Also the trees have a high fruit giving life (25 to 35 years).

The mango is a juicy stone fruit belonging to the genus Mangifera, consisting of numerous tropical fruiting trees, cultivated mostly for edible fruit. The majority of these species are found in nature as wild mangoes
